Rice Krispie Treats

Ok, I'm already failing at taking pictures when I bake.

But a few days ago, best friend and I made some delicious Rice Krispie treats, so here is the recipe!

Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan. Put 40 large marshmallows (10 oz) in the saucepan and stir continuously until they are melted.  Remove from heat and mix in 6 cups of Rice Krispies.  Once it is well mixed, spread into a greased 13X9 baking pan using a buttered spatula.

If you are fortunate enough to have a cooking buddy/best friend/husband, have them melt 2 squares of chocolate almond bark in the microwave.  Take it out and stir the chocolate every 30 seconds.  If chocolate starts having the consistency of chalk, chuck it. You can't go back. Start over.
Dump that chocolate on top of the Rice Krispie Treats.

Give it to your cooking buddy/best friend/husband for breakfast for the next 3 days.

We are so healthy ...

P.S. I can't stand the word "hubby."  So for future reference, "best friend" = Garrett. :D

  1. Yesterday I made Treats using the seasonal gingerbread marshmallows. I melt them down in my crock pot, mix the cereal in, press into pan:
    5 cups mini marshmallows
    3-4 Tbsp butter/margarine
Place into large crock pot, cover and turn to high. Prepare a 9x13 inch pan with foil, overlapping edges. Grease foil with butter or cooking spray.
After about an hour, the mixture should be melted and stir-able.
Add 7 cups puffed rice cereal and mix well.
Using oven mitts, pour the hot mixture into the pan. Press down using a spatula, or place plastic wrap on top an press with fingers. Allow to cool. Lift edges of foil to remove treats from pan, peel off foil and place onto large cutting board. Cut treats into squares and sneak a few for yourself. Store in airtight container for all of 48 hours until they are gone.
